Payments for visa and citizenship by descent application charges can be paid by postal money order (yubin kawase) or credit card.
Postal money orders can be obtained from any local post office in Japan in Japanese Yen (JPY):
- When obtaining postal money orders, please purchase one money order for the full amount you wish to pay (futsu kawase), rather than several money orders for a set amount (teigaku kogawase).
- Please do not write anything on the money order before enclosing it with your application.
Credit card payments are processed in Australian dollars (AUD) only.
Acceptable credit cards are VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners, and JCB and Credit Card Surcharge will apply.
Note: If paying by credit card in Australian dollars:
- you MUST declare the amount you intend to pay in the application form in Australian dollars, and
- you may incur banking and currency conversion fees and you accept the risk associated with any currency fluctuations.
