<Senior Research Officer (Economic)>

The Treasury Section of the Australian Embassy Tokyo is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Officer to assist in providing ongoing research and analysis on the Japanese economy and to manage the administrative operations of the Treasury section.

Relevant tertiary qualifications and high proficiency in Japanese and English are required. Previous experience in reporting on economic and public policy issues is highly desirable, but not essential.

<Consular Officer (fixed-term)>

The Consular Section of  the Australian Embassy Tokyo is seeking a bilingual person, who is a highly motivated team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, for the position of Consular Officer.  The successful candidate must be able to provide effective and efficient consular services to Australian citizens visiting and residing in Japan, including the management of consular cases and issue of Australian passports.

<Research Officer (Digital Economy, Innovation and Science)> 

The Resources and Industry section of the Australian Embassy is seeking a highly motivated professional to provide ongoing research and analysis on Japan’s policies and approach to the digital economy, innovation and science. The successful applicant must have tertiary qualifications, experience in research and analysis, preferably in a digital economy, innovation or science-related area and must demonstrate potential for high level interpreting and translation skills.  It will also involve liaison with relevant business and government organisations and assist in organising visits for Ministers and officials related to the digital economy, innovation and science.
