Australian start-ups pitch to Japan’s largest tech investors

The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) has supported the participation of more than 20 Australian start-up companies in the Innovation Leaders’ Summit, Asia’s largest open innovation event, partnering with six state & territory governments and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

Start-ups from Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria secured a total of 36 online business meetings with major Japanese businesses and venture capital firms.

This was also a key opportunity for Japan’s private sector to learn more about Australia’s Innovation Ecosystems through a 40 minute webinar, with presentations from state & territory governments.
