Australia-Japan: Science & technology diplomacy and public policy Forums

Australia-Japan: Science & technology diplomacy and public policy Forums

2-5 November 2018

The Australian National University will lead and deliver forums in Tokyo and Osaka, focusing on science and technology diplomacy and public policy. The University of Tokyo will co-lead the Tokyo forum and Osaka University will co-lead the Osaka forum.

The forums will bring together researchers, the public sector and the business community to provide updates on a range of global issues that require public policy responses and where scientific collaboration would provide better informed policy and innovative solutions. Those areas include, among other topics, energy policy, climate change and the environment, ageing and public health.

The forums will be platforms for facilitating links between scientific research, business-university relationships and the development of strong evidence-based public policy. Research presentations will describe research results and show what makes successful research collaborations. Early career researchers are particularly encouraged to attend and build their networks.

The forums are free and open to the public, but registration is essential. See below for event and registration details for each forum.
