I want to thank all the representatives from the media for being here today, because today is a very important day for the Australian Government. Today we are groundbreaking our new pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo, an event that is not just a national priority for Japan, but also for Australia.
A successful Expo will make for a successful Kansai region and a successful Kansai makes for a successful Japan. A strong and successful Japan is critical for Australia because our partnership is vital for Australian prosperity, for Australian security and for Australia's place in the world.
Australia, in turn, contributes through energy, food security and in all sorts of other ways in our partnership to make Japan stronger. So this is about a very specific event that will make both of our nations stronger and we're very proud to be committed to it.
We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of Australians to Kansai for the Expo. We know that they will be well looked after, because you are very hospitable hosts.
We, in turn, from Australia want to welcome the people of Kansai and the people of Japan to visit our Pavilion, where we can showcase ways we’re working together to solve the challenges of the future.
We’re very committed to Japan, we’re very committed to Kansai, we’re very committed to the Expo. We’re honoured to participate.
Thank you again for your attendance today. You will learn a lot about what we plan for a very successful event next year.
Thank you.
