Touring of the Hindmarsh Prize 2018 exhibition to Toyama, Japan

Canberra Glassworks will tour the Hindmarsh Prize 2018 exhibition of around 20 exceptional artworks by Australian glass artists to the Toyama Glass Museum in Japan as part of Australia now Japan 2018.
An award finalist will present an artist talk and demonstration at Toyama Glass Studio.

The Hindmarsh Prize recognizes excellence and promotes appreciation of the world-class artists working in glass who live and practice in the Australian Capital Territory or have a close association with the Canberra Glassworks.

The exhibition and artist talks are open to public and free of charge!

The Hindmarsh Prize is presented in the Fitters Workshop, adjacent to Canberra Glassworks, Australia’s leading centre for contemporary glass art, craft and design.

The prize was initiated by arts patron Mr John Hindmarsh AM, Chairman of Hindmarsh, the Major Sponsor.

The inaugural Hindmarsh Prize in 2016 was won by Japanese-Australian artist Masahiro Asaka. In 2017, Scott Chaseling (NSW) was the prize recipient.
