Hossein Valamanesh, whose artwork “In Memory of Snow” was shown at the very first Echigo Tsumari Art Triennale, is participating this year for the first time in 18 years.

Hossein Valamanesh immigrated to Australia from Iran in 1973, and is known for his delicate works of art, using everyday objects and natural materials to depict his own experiences and memories.

For this year’s Triennale,  Hossein Valamanesh will be working with Angela Valamanesh. Their art is installed in the area around Australia House in the Urada region of Tokamachi, Niigata.
