The Australian and New Zealand Embassies wish to announce that an ANZAC Day Memorial Service will be held at the Commonwealth War Cemetery, Hodogaya, Yokohama on Tuesday 25 April 2023 commencing at 9:00am.
The ceremony is expected to end shortly before 10am. Members of the Australian and New Zealand communities in Japan are welcome to attend.
As there is no public parking available on site, we recommend the use of public transportation. Please follow the instructions of police and security guards in the vicinity.
In the Australian section of the cemetery there are graves of 278 known and 3 unknown Australians including 10 Navy, 250 Army, 8 Air Force, and 10 merchant navy, while in the post war section there are 57 Australian Servicemen laid to rest.
