Visa period for Primary school students

Please note that a reduced visa grant period covering two years of primary school studies will apply to all primary school students.

If a primary school student applies for a student visa with CoE covering a study period of more than two years a student visa cannot be granted to cover the full course period.  The visa can only be granted for maximum of two years.

However, if a primary school student enrols midway through an Australian academic year, the visa grant period may be extended for a period to cover two and a half years, to align with the end of the Australian school year.

The two-year visa grant period does not apply to secondary school students.
A visa can be granted for more than two years to a student seeking to study primary and secondary provided the primary component does not exceed two years.

The below examples should help you understand visa period for primary school students.
